The aim of this page is to introduce you to Medium Work, and to help illustrate how and why it is good for us today.

It is vital, however, to understand that Medium Work, whilst being quite wonderful, is nothing really extraordinary, is easily available to everyone, and must therefore be taken as a given, and taken in our stride.

If we are to understand 'God' or if we are to improve our lives here, it is one of the tools we can use to help give us some sound clues as to the Nature of Unity, or the Absolute.

But, as ever, first and foremost, Absolute Unity must be understood, or at least partly understood, so that all things, including medium work, are placed into context.

What is a Medium?

A medium is someone who practices direct contact with people who have crossed over through death to The Other Side.

How do we be a medium?

When we talk or communicate with someone in the physical world (the world of energy in which we now live) we use our senses – hearing, sight, touch and sometimes smell and taste.

When we communicate with those on the Other Side, where there is no energy (yes, there is NO energy there), we use our psychic senses. These are simply more sensitive versions of the physical senses. What does psychic mean?

Your psychic capacity is your capacity to perceive through barriers of time, space and dimension.

Thus if I work psychically I can perceive through the barriers of time and can have glimpses of your future, your present and your past.

I can also sense how you are feeling, or how someone is feeling on the other side of the world, thus I perceive through the barriers of space.

I can also perceive through dimensions.

Thus I can communicate with those on the Other Side, or those in other realms such as the Galactic Realm, that of Angels and other beings.

What are our psychic senses?

The movies and TV shows hugely exaggerate these senses. They are by definition very sensitive senses and so are generally fleeting. So, expectations should be low. Practice, however, helps improve our ability to use them effectively.

The different senses are as follows:

Clairvoyance – this is our psychic ability to see images. Most of us have experienced this. Has a picture ever popped into your head when you are just relaxing? If so, it is more often than not a clairvoyant experience.

Clairaudience – this is our psychic sense of hearing. Many of us have had a sentence suddenly pop into our heads, or a word or a name, or you might even get a line of a song that is relevant. Clairaudience is very rarely experienced as something you actually hear, like in this world, but is more like your own thoughts in words.

Clairsentience – this is our psychic sense of feeling or just knowing (and tasting). Many of us have felt the presence of one thing or another. Many of us have felt or indeed known that something will happen. Many of us have felt the pain of a loved one. All of these, to varying degrees, are clairsentient experiences.

Clairalience – this is our psychic sense of smelling (some would attribute it to taste, because taste and smell are strongly linked). Many of us have smelled the perfume of a loved one who is now on the Other Side, or their cigarette smoke, or other smells. When this happens that person is making a direct medium connection with us.

I already ‘see things’ and ‘know things’ and ‘see spirits’ – so what should I do?

Learn not to. This is the simple answer.

Just as it good is for a grounded person to begin to connect with the Other Side or to work psychically, it is good for a non-grounded person to learn to be grounded and turn off their experiences.

Many say that it is a ‘gift’ to make easy connections psychically. But it is no more of a gift than it is to be naturally grounded, because both are important.

The trick is to be able to turn on and turn off whatever it is when you wish.

Also, the main purpose of psychic work is to understand your mind, your senses, your levels of consciousness and your whole being.

Hence, if you’re off with the fairies, learn not to be. Or, if you’re stuck in this world, begin to go off with a fairy or two.

This story gives a light and entertaining version of what happens at death. But it is worth also knowing the following.

There are three levels between here and the Other Side.

The first is what I call The Conscious Conception Stage (or Death Stage), because it is directly related to our not conscious experience of conception. This is experienced by being separate but within this world. You will see your dead body and you will see the ‘real’ world. But it will not see you.

This stage dissolves into what I call The Conscious Interface Stage. This is when your barriers break down, and you become more at one. It is often illusory and is when people ‘see’ Jesus, Buddha and such like. It is also generally very pleasant.

As your barriers crumble you enter into what I call The Potential Stage.  During this stage the barriers that separate you from what you have hidden from yourself are removed completely. In other words, you begin properly to know your life that has just passed. You begin to see how and why your were not complete. This can be very painful, especially if you have caused great pain to others and have lived very much on your ego. For if you identify with your ego, then, as it disappears you will feel like you are disappearing. Thus you will have to face the fear that kept you locked within your sense of being separate.

Remember, it is our purpose to be One, and so this final stage is a good stage in that it helps us know we are One.  It also shows us that we can exist no mater how vulnerable we are.

Since this can be a challenging time for some people, and when challenging times are with us time seems to slow, the experience of this stage can seem much longer than it is. Hence it is often associated with the 'infinity' of ‘hell’. It is, however, as transient as all the other levels.

When you have pass through that final level and you know completely that you are at one with your life, you will pass on into the Other Side.

Once there, contrary to some popular reports, you will not come back until, or if, you have another earthly life yet to live.

Throughout all of these in between stages you will have an energy body. This will get fainter and fainter as your progress through them. When you enter into the Other Side, you will completely lose your energy body, because you will be in the Realm of NO Energy.

It is worth noting that the three levels explained here are not necessarily experienced in such a clunky A-B-C way. For instance, old people will have experienced most, if not all, of these levels while they are actually here in their physical body. And so their passing over is really just like getting up out of bed on a very lovely sunny spring morning.  It does generally depend on who you are and how deeply spiritual you are (NB this is not for us or anyone else to judge).

What happens on the Other Side?

The Other Side is a relative unity. It is not Heaven, as in Completion. It is simply the flip side of the physical world, and must be known, otherwise this world would not be known.

It is difficult to explain in words of this happy realm.  However, the story, Thank God I’m Dead does give a few clues.

In short, since The Other Side is a unity and we love unity, and since it is infinitely more at one than we are here, it is a very wonderful place relative to this physical life.

It is, however, far from the Absolute Unity of Completion.

When we are on the Other Side time and space as we know it simply do not exist. However, we recognise and communicate with loved ones and others in a most beautiful way. There is much lightness and laughter and great consciousness. Many things are revealed about Existence.

There is also a loving connection between The Other Side and this Earthly Realm. Remember, those on the Other Side are in a UNITY, and so they like to be at one, which is to say they like to be at one with you here. Hence medium work is good and appreciated by them.

It is worth noting that they do not, however, ‘watch’ us, like a secret police. Their level of consciousness is so very high that the trivialities of this life are not that interesting.

What matters to them is Truth, which is Love and Completion.

If you are meant to live another Earthly life then you will leave the Other Side when you are conceived. Your conception is the moment of ‘death’ from the Other Side. Hence it is connected with the Death Stage in the physical world.

You may wonder what happens if there is a termination of a pregnancy or if there is a miscarriage. This is simply experienced on The Other Side as a momentary blip, rather like a near-death experience here. They simply return to the Other Side.

Can I predict things with medium work?

Consider the level of consciousness of an individual on the Other Side to be similar to that existing between an adult and a baby. The adult looks down at the baby in its cot. It does not matter what the baby does, whether it chooses the red brick to play with or the blue one. All that matters to the adult is its love of the baby. That is all.

This is rather like how those on the Other Side see us. It does not bother them so much about what will happen, because they are in a unity, and they not only know what will happen, but also that Love is the ultimate end and purpose of things.

Spirit on the Other Side may, however, prove their presence or their connection (Unity) by saying one or the other thing will happen or has happened, or they may encourage, but this will not be their focus. Their focus will be for you to be with them. Remember UNITY/LOVE IS PARAMOUNT.

If you commit suicide is it bad for you?

I am sure that if anyone is driven to suicide it goes without saying that things are bad. However, if you are asking whether or not you will be pitch-forked onto the flames of hell for helping yourself to die, then the answer is no.

It is just like a means of dying like many others.

I have made connections with those on the Other Side who had helped themselves to die for whatever reasons, and they were happy, light and bright. Also their crossing over was no more challenging than anyone else’s.

Of course, if you have things that you must face, then you will have to face them before fully going to the Other Side, just like everyone else.

I know people who say they have been visited in person by loved ones who had passed over a long time before – they were real and physical – is this possible?

Such visits are rare but they do happen. And they are real enough. So, yes it is certainly possible. It is seldom wise to rule out any possibilities – after considerable checks, of course, if need be.
